How often do you change your transmission fluid and what are the results if it is not changed?

How does a car act when it is low on transmission fluid?

I have a 02 imapala that is pulling after every stop and almost feels like its going into neutral when I am driving. I have to press hard on the gas to get it to go after stopping.

No Service engine light on.

Just had a tune up.

Always up to date with my oil changes.

Service traction light has been on but I don't think it has anything to do with that. Lights been on for sometime and this has barely started up.How often do you change your transmission fluid and what are the results if it is not changed?
should change it every 12 mths or 30 000 kms . the fluid becomes thin and contamenated which causes an auto valve body to block up which makes the shift rough and also lacks powerHow often do you change your transmission fluid and what are the results if it is not changed?
the traction control light can be transmission related, it can also be a speed sensor problem, but that would set a code in the computer. the transmission should be serviced by the maintenance schedule. i believe that yours is due every either 15,000 or 50,000 miles. skipping that will cause transmission failure in the long run . if it is slipping i would check the fluid level first, and correct that f it is low, after that see where the leak is. it might be time to get into a shop.
