Jack the vehicle up, unbolt the transmission plug on the transmission pan(it's going to be somewhere in the front because it is FWD). You should also change the filter and gasket while you are in there. It looks like a thick flat plastic case with a tube running up into the transmission. After you have drained everything and changed the filter (you might want to wait a little while for it to drain) bolt it back up and add the fluid into the transmission fluid tube under the hood. DO NOT POUR IT IN THE OIL TUBE! they look similar. Good luck.
P.S.- when you change your transmission fluid, you do not change all of it, there is still some old fluid in the transmission. It is better for the car (especially if it has high milage) if you take it to a shop to have them do a full system flush. It is more expensive but if you think your car needs it, it's worth it in the long run.

The fluid should be drained immediately after the vehicle has been driven. This will remove any built up sediment better than if the fluid were cold. Because of this it's a good idea to wear protective gloves (fluid temperature can exceed 350-degrees f in a hot transmission )After the vehicle has been driven to warm up the fluid raise it and place it on jackstands for access underneath.Make sure it is firmly supported by the four stands placed under the frame rails. place the drain pan under the transmission oil pan and remove the oil pan bolts along the rear and sides of the pan . Loosen but do not remove the bolts at the front of the pan . Carefully pry the pan down at the rear allowing the hot fluid to drain into the drain pan . If necessary use a screwdriver to break the gasket seal at the rear of the pan however do not damage the pan or transmission in the process .Support the pan and remove the remaining bolts at the front of the pan .Lower the pan and drain the remaining fluid into the drain receptacle. As this is done check the fluid for metal particles which may be indication of transmission failure.Now visible on the bottom of the transmission is the filter/strainer held in place by screws Remove the screws the filter and the gasket. On E4OD transmission remove the filter by carefully pulling and rotating it as necessary (note)make sure the o-ring seal is not in the filter pick up bore .If it is remove and discard it. Thoroughly clean the transmission oil pan with solvent . inspect for metal particles and foreign matter .Dry with compressed air if available .It is important that all remaining gasket material be remove from the oil pan mounting flange . Use a gasket scraper or putty knife for this Clean the filter mounting surface on the valve body again this surface should be smooth and free of old gasket material . Place the new filter into position with a new gasket between it and the transmission valve body . Install the mounting screws and tighten them to the torque value listed. On E4OD transmission lubricate the new filter o-ring with transmission fluid and press the filter and seal assembly into the transmission bore. Apply a bead of RTV sealant around the oil pan mounting surface with the sealant to the inside of the bolt holes . Press the new gasket into place on the pan making sure all bolt holes line up Lift the pan up to the bottom of the transmission and install the mounting bolts tighten the bolts in a diagonal fashion working around the pan . While changing my oil, a friend mistakenly drained the transmission fluid instead, not noting how much was drained. So now I had to buy the Toyota T-IV transmission fluid and added about 1.5 qts of it already, and it's up to the %26quot;cold%26quot; notch on the dipstick (I added when the engine was cold). Is this the correct procedure? Shouldn't it be more than 1.5 qts? Should I just add up to the 3 qts that i've heard people do when doing a a drain/refill, or should i just leave it at 1.5 qts? Again if this vehicle has high mileage or has severe duty use? you will have to adjust your change intervals accordingly.
The balance of all this is that periodic maintenance %26quot;extends%26quot; the life of the vehicle maximizing your useful value of the vehicle. If you are changing fluids and doing repairs costing more than the value of the vehicle itself? it may be time for a newer / fewer mileage vehicle.
