You just fill it back up thought the dip stick under the hood and the stick loop is yellow in color.

How to change Transmission in a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer?
My friend asked me if i could change his transmission fluid and filter in his Trailblazer. I cannot find any diagrams or instructions anywhere online, and i usually can find what i need for my vehicles via the web. Thats why i need y'alls help. How involved is this process going to be and where can i find some D.I.Y info (eg. diagrams, step by step instructions, etc...). Honda civic 2002 LX transmission fluid change and fuel filter?
I'm not a mechanic by any means...I'm good with changing oil, brake pads, spark plugs, some belts and could do an alternator....but I'm not certain if I should try the transmission fluid or take it to a garage???? Also, I looked in my Haynes book and seems like the fuel filter sits on top of the fuel tank and I will have to go back and look but I think I remember reading something about a hatch under the back seat to change the fuel filter so you don't have to drop the tank. Personally, I don't think a 2002 needs a gas filter change. I wouldn't bother.
As for transmission fluid, I would change it at about the 75,000 mile mark.
First, purchase only fluid made for that vehicle from the dealer - don't buy a generic substitute at the auto store! The Honda's are very fussy about the fluid. I wouldn't take a chance on ruining the trans by buying a cheap replacement fluid.
It is very easy to change it. Just put a catch pan under the trans and remove the plug to drain the fluid. It is true that you will not drain 100% of the fluid this way, but replacing 80% of it gives your trans mostly new fluid in it. This is what I do. The service stations try to sell you a flushing of the system, but it is expensive (they have to pay for the expensive machine).
If you are really concerned about getting all of the old fluid out you can flush it yourself. Here's how: Buy twice the amount of fluid (8 containers instead of 4). Find the trans inlet cooling tube on the bottom of the radiator and crack it open to allow fluid to escape. Start the car and let it idle while filling with new fluid. When you think half of the fluid has been passed through, secure the cooling tube and top off the fluid. If it's an auto, I would reccomend just bringing it into a quick lube shop, most of them have t-tec machines that go straight into the dipstick hole, and will replace 100% of the trans fluid. dude dont do it your self, tranny is something you dont wanna mess with, unless you have money for a new one... I think you have to blow and flush all the fluid out b4 you put in the new one, its not like changing motor oil so just take it to the dealer so you have the warranty on it aswell

Do I need a transmission fluid change or valve adjustment?
I drive a 94 Geo Prizm w/ 147,000 miles and to my knowledge, the transmission fluid has not been changed for at least 100,000 miles and probably 10 years. Everything shifts fine, but I am wondering whether or not I should consider changing the fluid out. I hear differeing opinions from anyone I ask.....some say its important to change it every 30k, others say don't touch it.
Also, some people are saying I should get a valve adjustment, which I also hear differing opinions on whether or not its necessary.

I have a 2007 Dodge charger 2.7 model with less then 49K. Not to long ago while waiting at a red light the car started to tremble a little bit and my check engine light turned on, I went to get a computer diagnostic from Auto zone and they showed the screen of the COMPUTER they use to do the diagnostic and it said the problem was the transmission fluid. Since then my check engine light has turned off but I would still like to have this problem fixed and I have also not felt the car tremble while waiting at a light. Can some one tell me about how much it would cost to have the transmission fluid change along with a filter if it requires one.

I want completely drain and refill the ATF, replace the filter and gasket. How do i go about completely draining all of the fluid. The capacity is 2.6 quarts not including the torque converter and 7.6 quarts including the torque converter. Is there a way to drain the rest of the five quarts without removing the torque converter. Go to Jiffy Lube, for about 89.95 they will attach a fitting to your transmission cooler line and with the engine running and the machine running will pump out all the old fluid and replace it with new fluid... you can even see where the fluid comes out until it finally runs clean and clear/red..It's a fantastic preventive maintenance procedure to save/prolong your transmission and is the onlyw ay to get all the fluid out including what is inside your torque converter...Transmission Fluid Change: 1994 Acura Vigor?

Although I haven't personally changed the tranny oil on a 1991 honda civic, I have changed tranny oil on multiple cars. On all of these cars, the one common factor, is that some place or another there's a drain plug and a fill plug. Here's the general process:
1) Drive car for approx. 15 minutes to get the oil in the tranny warm.
2) Jack the car up as high as possible that is safe, yet flat.
(be careful, car will be hot)
3) Find the fill plug and remove.
4) Find the drain plug, and catch old fluid.
5) Once fluid is drained, wrap threads with teflon tape and reapply drain plug.
6) From here, figure out a way to get your new tranny fluid into the fill hole. I usually use a long hose and gravity. Others have used suction guns and what not. Continue to fill the tranny until fluid starts to overflow out of the fill hole.
7) Wrap fill plug with teflon and reapply (be careful because most transmissions have an aluminum case)
8) Lower car and test drive, inspect for leaks.

On the honda gearboxes auto or manual they have drain plugs on the side of the box, easy way of telling which bolt? turn your wheel and look at the gearbox from the side.
simply get a 3/8 drive rachet and it should fit onto it, look for a bolt with square cut.

The only 4-speed Honda had available for your car was the automatic. Manual transmissions were 5-speeds. Get the OEM service manual for your car from www.helminc.com and follow the directions within to do your tranmission fluid change properly and to Honda specification. While wrapping the drain plug with teflon tape can't hurt as long as none of the material gets into the transmission, Honda drain plugs have a copper or aluminum crush washer that is designed to seal the plug. You should always replace this seal washer anytime you remove the bolt and follow the manual torque specification.
Unless you are doing this in the freezing cold, there is no particular need to warm the fluid to any major degree.
While a manual transmission is filled until fluid comes out the fill hole THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION! Be sure to fill an automatic until the level reaches the top fill mark on the dipstick with the engine running and the transmission in neutral. You should cycle the transmission through the gear selections to properly distribute the new transmission fluid.
The job is relatively easy. Good luck!
